“Mr. Jamison’s potent message provides readers with insights on recognizing that although there may be many obstacles and/or challenges negatively impacting their lives, there are alternative options that do can disrupt violence and/or crime. When we are in the midst of crisis or chaos our view can become limited. Mr. Jamison pushes his readers to dig deep and search within ourselves, our communities and social networks to pursue alternative options, leading to decisions that strengthen and heal our capacity to reach our fullest potential, rather than falling back on old habits and ways. Daroun M Jamison

In 1995, Daroun was 17 years old sitting inside of a prison cell, trying to figure out what had gone wrong with his life. How did he go from a junior Deacon in the church being groomed for ministry , with dreams of becoming a U.S Air Force fighter pilot into a violent petty drug dealer facing up to 72 years in prison.

Within a year the barely literate high school drop out had been sentenced to 18 years in prison. Depression, suicidal thoughts and a sense of hopelessness began to consume him as he equally struggled with anger, bitterness and denial.

Haunting him were two thoughts. Could he become a better person?, and Was it possible that he could become success when got out or was he destined to continue on a path of recidivism that would end with him dying in prison?

His determination to answer these questions coupled with the deep desire that he wanted better for himself than to die in prison was the begining of a long, difficult and painful journey into himself. What followed was intense self-education, reflection and meditation.

As a result, he realized that the way to empower himself to succeed was through self-examination and personal responsibilty. Those tools allowed him to gain deep insight and perspective into underlying causes that influences mistakes and bad decsions that we make in life.

The lessons that he learned can help to empower other people to better face, cope with and overcome lifes challenges, by understanding that life is a continoues cycle of Mindset, Decisions and Outcomes.

At present , Daroun is launching an Educational Empowerment Company focused on Mindset Development and Self- Empowerment strategies based on real life experiences.
